WhatsApp Updates its Privacy Policy, Makes Sharing of Data a Necessity while using the Platform

WhatsApp has released its new privacy policy announcing some changes in its terms of use. The new updated policy needs to be paid attention to since failure to do so will result in loss of access to the app post 8th Feb 2021.

The messaging platform has silently informed both Android and iOS users about the new policy update. The changes introduced include information on how the platform collects and handles the user data.

WhatsApp has also provided details regarding how the data will be shared with Facebook henceforth. Earlier, users had the option to choose whether they want to share their information or not.

The platform collects information including users' activity, service settings, interaction with other users, the time and duration of their activities on WhatsApp.
