Twitter's New 'Tip Jar' Button Faces Privacy Concerns In Its Testing Phase
Twitter's new 'Tip Jar' button has encountered some serious issues related to privacy. Started off as a test, this button aims to provide yet another opportunity for users to generate income from their Twitter efforts.
This new feature has met with privacy concerns. It was noted by cybersecurity expert Rachel Tobac, that people might be accidentally sharing their personal information when they provide a tip.
The person receiving the tip also receives the PayPal receipt bearing your address right there. Twitter was quick to respond to this observation and said that it would update its process. The platform added that it is an issue with PayPal.
Moreover, users are also finding it difficult to request a payment through the process. The new tip Jar button seems to be another interesting introduction by Twitter to help creators boost their financial incentive.
Currently, the new button is in its testing mode, but the final rollout is still under wraps.
