Apple Expands its Rating System Feature for More Users
Apple seems to have secretly started the expansion of its Rating System for more number of users related to Apple Maps. The move is a step by Apple to make Apple Maps a better app when compared to that of Google Maps. The new capabilities introduced in the app will work towards creating a better user experience.
The system was first introduced for a selected number of individuals. However, presently the update is now being expanded to more users in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
As per the new update, the settings screen will receive a toggle that will enable 'ratings and photos' and 'show ratings and photos suggestions.' The feature made its debut with the beta version of iOS 14.2. However, many users have claimed that Apple is targeting a step-by-step rollout of the feature.
The feature will also eliminate the dependence of Apple on third-party services that earlier provided the users with ratings and photos. Some of these service providers include Foursquare, TripAdvisor, and Yelp.
With these improvements, Apple is working towards making it is game stronger than Google Maps.
