PageRank Sculpting - A Way to Hide Internal Links
A question, related to the internal links, was recently discussed by Google's John Mueller. The process of using the PRG pattern for hiding links was the topic that had been raised.
PRG pattern can be defined as the process for hiding internal links from Google through an HTML button. Some of the reasons for eCommerce stores to hide this link might include the generation of multiple URLs and making sure that the PageRank keeps flowing to various pages.
In other words, the higher the PageRank accrued by a page, the more are the chances that it is considered trustworthy by Google's algorithm. PageRank sculpting is the way of hiding those pages from Google that might be non-essential.
However, it would still be an ideal option to promote a site and create a solid internal linking structure. It will help to reduce the dependence on the PageRank sculpting.
