John Mueller from Google Shares Valuable Insights to Avoid Troubleshooting Rich Results
Are you worried that despite using structured data your website is not able to generate rich results? To avoid this situation, it is necessary to follow a few tips, as mentioned by Google. The structured data problem was discussed during the Google Search Central SEO session on the 26th of February.
In response to this issue raised, John Mueller highlighted three reasons why the structured data is not performing as required.
The possible reasons could be :
- Invalid markup
- Incompliance of specific use case as per Google's policies
- Violation of Quality due to loss of rich privileges by a website
However, if the above factors are not possible causes, then the quality algorithm might be the problem. A website's rich privileges are lost if previously it made use of incorrect structured data. For determining if Google is happy with your website, conduct a 'site:' query for your website.
In the site:' query analysis if the rich results are shown when compared to the normal queries, then that means Google is not satisfied with your website.
