Aarogya Setu App Advances, to Aid in Locating an Emerging Hotspot

During the recent coronavirus pandemic, the Aarogya Setu app has proved to be quite useful. As per its recent development by IIT Madras, the app is now capable of identifying a location even before it turns into a hotspot.

With the use of AI and data science, the app has easily managed to help in the process of identification of hotspots. Further, the information gets shared with the local authorities. The uniqueness of the app lies in the fact that it makes use of Bluetooth contact data as well as location data.

Aarogya Setu app also makes use of telephone tower data. The addition of Bluetooth data helps in those cases wherein the users might not have the app, but it still helps in the identification of those apps.

The rise in the coronavirus pandemic has raised the importance of contact tracing. It has emerged to be one of the integral components of COVID-19 pandemic management.
