Facebook Decides to Expand its Dedicated News Tab Option in U.K.

Facebook is all set to launch Facebook News in the U.K., during the start of the next month. Earlier, the option was only limited to the people in the U.S. The news tab will categorize updates from Facebook's approved sources and sync as per user interests.

Facebook requires publishers to adhere to the platform's Publisher guidelines so that there is no spread of misinformation. The news guidelines will include different factors, including third-party fact-checkers, and any kind of community standards violations.

The platform will now provide an opportunity for the citizens of U.K. to choose the option of the new news feed tab or the old type of News Feed. In the U.S., the News tab was first released in October 2019.

Currently, Facebook has decided to expand the coverage of the news tab to more countries. The new news tab will provide users with the opportunity to personalize top stories. Facebook will support the expansion of the Community News Programme in the U.K.
